DESCRIPTION: CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PDF EVENT FLYER \nFires from Lithium Ion batteries are causing significant stress within the waste and recycling industry. It seems that every day\, there is another event.  \nWaste Recycling Industry Association Queensland (WRIQ) has been engaged by the Qld Department of Environment\, Science and Innovation to investigate ways of collecting and safely managing waste batteries to get them out of our waste recycling infrastructure. \nThe project involves stakeholder consultation\, the preparation of action plans (short\, medium and longer term)\, piloting industry’s best ideas\, identifying innovative technological solutions and the development community awareness programs. \nYour expertise and knowledge in the waste industry is invaluable as we work together to exchange ideas and insights.
