SUMMARY:NHVR Waste and Recycling Industry Code of Practice Training (Moranbah)
DESCRIPTION:Is your business ready for the Waste and Recycling Industry Code of Practice?\nHeavy vehicle operations in the waste and recycling industry present unique safety and compliance risks. The Waste and Recycling Industry Code of Practice has been developed to provide practical\, industry-specific guidance to help operators understand and meet their obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility framework. This fully funded\, one-day training course will help business owners\, managers and operational leaders understand what the Code means for their business and how to apply it in day-to-day operations. \nWhy this training matters\nHeavy vehicle safety is not just the responsibility of the driver. Under Chain of Responsibility\, responsibilities can extend across the waste and recycling supply chain — including waste generators\, operators\, loaders\, transporters and receiving facilities. The Code provides additional guidance on how businesses can identify and manage these risks\, establish appropriate controls and demonstrate that their heavy vehicle safety responsibilities are being actively managed. \nThe training will help participants understand: \n\nChain of Responsibility and the responsibilities of parties across the waste and recycling supply chain.\nThe Heavy Vehicle National Law\, primary duty and regulatory obligations.\nPractical hazard and risk management for waste and recycling operations.\nLoad restraint and load security\, including industry-specific examples involving load shift\, scrap metal and correct restraint.\nThe responsibilities of waste generators and other parties and the importance of communication across the chain.\nHow to identify and manage hazardous waste\, including appropriate labelling\, segregation and information sharing.\nPractical steps businesses can take to strengthen their systems\, procedures and compliance.\n\nFor higher-risk waste streams such as batteries and other hazardous materials\, clearly understanding responsibilities and ensuring the right information follows the material through the supply chain is increasingly important. \nUse this funded opportunity to get your business ready\nThis training has been funded to help the waste and recycling industry build capability and understand the Code before regulatory compliance becomes an enforcement issue. It is an opportunity to review your current practices\, identify potential gaps and understand what good compliance looks like in a waste and recycling operating environment. \nWRIQ strongly encourages businesses operating heavy vehicles to prioritise attendance by owners\, senior managers\, transport and operations managers\, compliance and safety personnel\, and supervisors. \nFREE OF CHARGE\nTraining\, course materials and resources are fully funded. \nPractical guidance. Stronger compliance. Safer heavy vehicle operations. \nThis project is funded by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulators (NHVR) Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI)\, supported by the Australian Government \n \n \n \n \n \n REGISTRATION\nNHVR Waste and Recycling Industry Code of Practice Training: FREE OF CHARGEIncludes light lunch and afternoon tea  \nBookings close 12noon\, Wednesday 28 October 2026CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW
