Working Groups at WRIQ are groups of Waste and Resource Recovery (WRR) people, business owners and subject matter experts working together to achieve a specific, group identified goals. Typically, the goal will address an issue of importance to both the subject matter and the WRR Industry.
Working groups are a critical part of how WRIQ will be working and vital to inform upcoming government policies and decisions.
WRIQ currently has five active working groups. Email memberservices@wriq.com.au if you are interested in joining one of the groups:
- Landfill
- Organics
- Metals
- Training, Workforce and Safety
- Recovery, Markets and Procurement
How do WRIQ Working Groups operate?
WRIQ Working Groups have been refreshed to encourage active participation and delivery on group identified goals. WRIQ Working Groups will:
- Meet quarterly for 1 hour (online or face to face).
- WRIQ will provide resources to ensure group administration is supported (such as booking meetings, agendas, minute taking, etc)
- Set and work towards specific, group identified goals
- Work collectively to set priorities and key objectives for WRIQ and the group to deliver
What are my responsibilities as a WRIQ Working Group member?
WRIQ Working Group members will commit to:
- 12 months of Working Group membership
- Attending (online or face to face) monthly meetings (1 hour per month) or if unable to attend notify WRIQ accordingly.
- Reviewing agendas, notes and tasks prior to monthly meetings and come prepared for engaged discussion and participation.
- Undertake assigned tasks between meetings (as needed and agreed-upon by the Group)
- Abide by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010
Each working group will be headed up by a Chair / Co-Chair to facilitate meetings and participate in consultation or government working groups. If you are interested in being a Chair of a working group please indicate this to WRIQ when you register interest for the working groups.
