WHAT IS AMBROSE GOLF?
The Ambrose event is played in a team of four, where for each hole:
- Each player in the team tees off
- The team chooses the team’s best ball
- All players hit their next shot from the location of the best ball
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the hole is completed
- The hole score is the number of strokes of the “best ball”
In essence, it allows players of a wide range of abilities to enjoy a competition as the team only needs to count the best shot each time.
Local rules on the day
- Virginia Golf Club will brief players with Rules and format at 7.50am.
